Local Residential FAQs - FAQs

What are your prices for the different services and items?

Local moving rates depend on the size of your home, the number of movers needed, and any additional services such as packing, storage, or specialty item handling. During your in-home or virtual estimate, we give you a clear, itemized quote so you know exactly what everything costs before your move begins.

How can I cut the cost of my move? How can I save money?

You can lower your cost by being fully packed before moving day, reducing clutter, labeling rooms clearly, reserving elevator or loading dock access, and grouping items in easy-to-move areas. Your move consultant can also review your plan and show you simple ways to reduce time and labor.

How are claims handled?

If an issue occurs, we make the claims process simple. You submit details through our claims portal, and our team reviews your coverage, verifies the item, and resolves the claim quickly. We keep you updated through every step.

Do you have discounts? (military, seniors, realtor referrals)

Yes. We offer discounts for active duty military, veterans, seniors, and approved realtor referrals. Your move consultant can confirm which discounts apply to your move.

I’m only moving a short distance. Why is travel time listed?

Travel time covers the time it takes the crew to drive from our facility to your home and back after the move. This ensures your crew is paid fairly, and it keeps local moving rates consistent and transparent.

How much do I save on my move if I pack myself?

Packing yourself can reduce costs because you’re removing labor time from the job. The exact savings depend on how much needs to be packed and how prepared your items are when the crew arrives.

Why does the move take so long? Are these hours increasing my cost?

Local moves are billed based on time, and the duration depends on how many items you have, access at both homes, stairs or elevators, long carries, and how well everything is packed. We work efficiently, but we also prioritize safety and protecting your belongings.

Why can’t you complete it in one day for over 10,000 pounds?

Larger shipments often require multiple crews, trucks, or staging to protect your belongings and manage loading space. Splitting the work ensures safe handling, accurate loading, and smooth delivery. Your coordinator will explain your timeline based on size and access.

Are you bonded and insured?

Yes. We are fully licensed, bonded, and insured for local and long-distance moves. This protects you, your home, and your belongings throughout the entire moving process.

When are my payments due? How do I track that?

For local moves, payment is typically due at the end of the move once services are complete. Your move consultant will break down the payment schedule, and you can track your move documents and receipts through your customer portal.

Do you disassemble and reassemble items at no extra cost? (bedframes, etc.)

Basic disassembly and reassembly of beds and standard furniture are included at no extra charge. Specialty items or complex furniture may require additional time or third-party support. Your move consultant will explain what is included.

What is the cost difference between CP (carrier packed) and PBO (packed by owner)?

Carrier packed (CP) includes professional packing, materials, and full protection coverage. Packed by owner (PBO) lowers your cost because you handle the packing yourself, but coverage may be limited for items packed by the customer. Your coordinator will explain pricing and coverage differences so you can choose the best option.
