Chief Executive Officer 

Bud Morrissette would be the first to tell you that moving is simply in his blood. He grew up in the moving business — literally and figuratively — under the guidance of his father, Arthur Morrissette Jr. and his grandfather, Arthur Sr., the founder of Interstate.

Bud formally joined the enterprise in 1995. As he was mentored through the business, Bud served in virtually every capacity, including sales, finance, safety, HR and operations. Bud was appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2017 of the Interstate Family of Companies, and under his leadership, Interstate has expanded its services and grown to become one of the largest independent moving, relocation and logistics companies in the U.S.

During Bud’s tenure, the organization has been recognized for numerous accomplishments including an unprecedented, 11-time winner of the NDTA Quality Award for Defense sector services; ISO–9002 certification; seven-time INC. 500/5000 member; Blue Diamond Quality Award; the National Capital Business Ethics Award; and the only seven-time recipient of the AMSA Fleet Safety Initiative Award. 

Passionate about his responsibility to civic duty and community, Bud has been appointed and served on several commissions and boards including the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement of Greater Washington just to name a few.

Alongside his brother, Bud, and cousin, Ken, J.D. Morrissette is proud to be part of the third generation of Interstate’s founding family. His long tenure in the transportation industry has played a pivotal role in building Interstate by expanding its business units and service offerings.

J.D. has served in virtually every role possible at Interstate, including mover, warehouseman, long-distance driver (and proudly still holds an active CDL-A!), recruiter, dispatcher, claims processor, fleet maintenance manager and Vice President, Operations. These diverse experiences have provided him with the extensive knowledge required to serve in his current role as President, Interstate Van Lines.

J.D. earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Florida. In addition, he has served on the board of directors for the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) for two decades, including Chair of the Board (2017-2019). J.D. values his strong ties to the local community, having volunteered his time with Leadership Fairfax, ArtsFairfax, the Fairfax County Public Library Foundation and The American Red Cross, National Capital Region.

Executive Vice President | Quality Assurance & Customer Care

Margie Malloy joined Interstate in 2011, serving as Vice President of Administration. During her time at Interstate, Margie has held accountability for the company’s human resources and administrative operations. In 2015, Margie was appointed as Executive Vice President, Quality Assurance and Customer Care.

As a seasoned moving industry expert, Margie has tenured, diversified experience in commercial moving and archiving services. Prior to Interstate, Margie served as an executive committee member at The Kane Company and was instrumental in developing the strategic direction for multiple business units.

Margie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA in International Business from the University of Maryland Global Campus. She also is a Credit Business Associate (CBA) and a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Ken Morrissette, Jr., or “K2” as he is sometimes called by his colleagues, is a member of the third generation of the Morrissette family that founded and continues to successfully manage The Interstate Family of Companies. Ken is responsible for several non-financial administrative functions of the company including legal, safety & compliance, human resources and office services. 

Prior to joining the family business in 2014, Ken was an International Labor Standards advocate for international brands such as Eddie Bauer, Craft and Kosta Boda while living in Bangladesh, China and Hong Kong. 

Before moving overseas, Ken was a litigation attorney at Perkins Coie, LLP in Seattle, Washington. He also clerked for the Honorable H. Russel Holland of the U.S. District Court in Anchorage, Alaska where he developed his appetite for adventure and travel. 

Ken climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2012 and has traveled to more than 75 countries and territories. Ken earned a BS degree from the University of Colorado and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law. He is also a member of the bar in California and Washington state.

Mark Lundgren leads the Interstate Van Lines business unit, with accountability for growing revenue and profitability, training and quality initiatives, continuous improvement of operational efficiencies and refining processes to exceed customer expectations. Mark also oversees Interstate’s vast service provider network and associated service deliverables. 

With a tenure of more than thirty years in the transportation industry, Mark has a proven track record of developing strategic business plans to increase profitability and achieve corporate objectives. Prior to joining Interstate in 2015, Mark held senior management positions with well-respected companies like Global Van Lines and Bekins Van Lines, as well as managing freight forwarding and directing port operations for The Pasha Group.

Mark has served in leadership roles in the two prominent industry associations, the EDPA (Exhibits, Designer and Producers Association) and the CMSA (California Moving & Storage Association). Mark hails from Southern California and attended California State University, Long Beach.

Ron Granville Vice President & General Manager Residential & Logistics Services

Ron Granville sets the strategic direction and oversees day-to-day operations of Interstate’s Residential and Logistics business units.

As a career moving industry veteran, Ron worked his way up the ranks from crew member and driver to running the day-to-day operations of a multi-million-dollar transportation company. His expertise spans all aspects of the transportation industry, including household goods, commercial moving, warehousing, asset management and logistics.

Prior to joining Interstate in 2017, Ron was Vice President, Operations at The Kane Company, where he grew revenue for the third-party logistics (3PL) business unit by 600% — from $4 million to $25 million — over the course of 14 years. In that time, he built and nurtured relationships with customers in virtually every industry across metropolitan Baltimore-Washington, D.C., including Verizon, Marriott, Lucent Technologies and The World Bank.

Prior to his tenure at Kane, Ron held senior management positions at Smith’s Transfer and Smith’s Moving & Storage, formerly the second-largest, company-owned office for Mayflower Transit.

Ilene Reiter Vice President, HR

Ilene Reiter is the newest member of our senior leadership team, having joined Interstate in May of 2021.

Ilene and her team serve as strategic business partners with responsibility for talent acquisition and onboarding, employee relations, retention, health and wellness, policy compliance, risk management and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

Ilene is an innovative and results-driven human resources executive, with prior leadership experiences in the aerospace and defense, healthcare and transportation sectors. Her professional experience includes positions with Securitas Critical Infrastructure Services, Voyager Hospice Care and Ryder Integrated Logistics.

Ilene is super passionate about promoting a positive and cohesive work environment, and especially enjoys building relationships at all levels of an organization and advancing strategic workforce solutions that enhance efficiency, productivity, quality and productivity.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management Psychology from University of Michigan. Ilene is also certified as both a Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute.

With demonstrated expertise in global shipping and freight forwarding, Ruth Moritz leads Interstate’s International and Relocation Services business units. Her formidable knowledge of federal government relocation and the global transportation of household goods makes her a respected subject matter expert for the organization and its customers. 

Ruth’s greatest strengths lie in her analytical and operational capabilities. By securing vital agency partners, Ruth has created operational efficiencies, resulting in increased profitability for the enterprise. Her detailed financial and economic analyses ensure competitive rates are filed for U.S. Government Tenders of Services relating to international relocations. Additionally, Ruth has played a critical role in creating and implementing IT system enhancements to facilitate streamlined customer service, operations and reporting for continuous improvement. 

Ruth’s on-site and hands-on experience informs her solid understanding of operational best practices. In addition, Ruth speaks four languages and graciously engages with stakeholders to build mutually-beneficial partnerships.

Albert Greene Vice President Economics & Business Analysis

Vice President | Economics & Business Analysis

Albert Greene boasts an impressive tenure with Interstate, starting as a seasonal moving helper for five summers. Once he graduated college, Albert was hired full time as a rates and tariff administrator, analyzing pricing under the CFO.

In the mid-1990s, Albert was promoted to Manager, IT, overseeing enterprise systems and proprietary software development. In this capacity, Albert managed numerous vital projects, including creating the first company website; ensuring a smooth Y2K transition; developing relocation management, warehouse management and document and imaging systems; and migrating the company’s mainframe environment to a Microsoft .NET framework.

In 2013, Albert was appointed Vice President, Economics and Business Analysis. In this role, he collaborates with Interstate’s executive and management teams to further develop, design and implement improvements across all business processes. He most enjoys the opportunity to help his colleagues create efficiencies, improve communication and reduce expenses using technology.

Albert holds a B.S. degree and an MBA from Virginia Tech.

Imran Khalid Director Information Technology

Director | Information Technology

Imran Khalid is the Director of Information Technology at Interstate. Imran has more than 16 years of hands-on experience in information technology and information systems.

As a technology expert, he oversees the design and implementation of all operational and business support IT systems with a focus on cybersecurity. Prior to joining Interstate, Imran worked at First Horizon Bank as a Relationship Banker and as an Executive Engineer at Siemens. 

Imran holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics from the University of Azad Kashmir Pakistan and an MS in Applied Information Technology from George Mason University.
